<title>Smart? Creative? Love Music and People? (Columbia, MD and throughout DC Metro)Smart? Creative? Love Music and People? (Columbia, MD and throughout DC Metro)</title>
<description>MyDeejay, Inc., an award-winning wedding and corporate DJ company in the DC/Baltimore area, is once again opening its apprentice DJ program for aspiring disc jockeys. We provide all the training you'll need to join our elite team of DJs, who make an average of $25-55K for part-time work.
This is a legitimate career opportunity that comes with its own training. Working as a wedding and corporate DJ is ideal for people who already have a 9-5 job but are looking for a substantial second income to supplement their earnings. It's also ideal for freelancers who are currently pursuing some other passion -- art, writing, computers, whatever -- and need a stable income as well. Being a DJ is much more lucrative (and rewarding!) than bartending or retail!
Our DJ team consists of a diverse group of professionals -- our current roster includes people who work in advertising, law, technology, real estate and more -- but they're also all creative, dynamic individuals who love music and working with people.
Because our training program is so comprehensive, no prior DJ experience is necessary -- you'll learn everything you need to know, and we'll work with you to help you acquire all the DJ equipment you need during your apprenticeship. Once you've completed our program, you'll be invited to join our team and will be an in-demand wedding and corporate DJ.
All candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Be both creative and smart (college is a big plus, but not required as long as you're intelligent!)
- Be friendly, outgoing, articulate and able to connect with a wide variety of people
- Be tech-savvy (we'll train you on how to operate DJ equipment, but if you're not quick with computers and electronics, you'll struggle!)
- Be passionate about a wide variety of music (this is NOT the right fit for someone who only wants to spin electronic or hip hop!)
- Have a professional appearance (our clientele are professionals in their mid 20s-late 30s, and you need to fit right in)
- Own your own RELIABLE vehicle
- Be able to lift 75 lbs (speakers are heavy!)
- Be willing to provide music for ALL weddings, including same-sex and interfaith
- Live in one of the following areas or their surrounding suburbs - Baltimore, Annapolis, Columbia, Washington D.C. or Northern Virginia
- Be available to meet with prospective clients several evenings per week, and be able to devote most Saturday afternoons/evenings to DJing events (Friday and Sunday availability is a plus, but not required)
Most of all, we're looking for GOOD people who are honest, open-minded and genuine. We put a lot of faith in our DJs, expect a lot from them, and compensate them extremely well in return. As a result, most of our DJs renew their contracts with us over and over again, because the work is that good.
We'll be bringing on apprenticeship candidates to begin training in mid-late March. If you're interested in being considered, please email us at info AT mydeejay DOT com with your resume, a current photograph (we want to see you, so make sure it's clear!) and your answers to the following questions:
1. What's your typical week like? What do you do in your &quot;other&quot; job, what do you like to do for fun, what's your passion? Tell us what you love and how you spend your time.
2. What kinds of music do you like? What are some of your favorite artists?
3. What made you want to consider becoming a wedding and corporate DJ?
This is really all we're interested in right now -- your resume, photo, and how you answer these specific questions. We're not interested in your music samples, we don't want to look at a Myspace page, we don't care about your DJ name, and we don't want two-sentence inquiries with no real interest behind them. We want to determine if you'll be a good fit for our team. Strong potential candidates will receive a full packet of information in return. We can't wait to hear from you! Location: Columbia, MD and throughout DC Metro

      <title>P/T Women's Interest Writer - 4 Hours/Day - $11/hr - Work from Home (Tempe/Scottsdale)P/T Women's Interest Writer - 4 Hours/Day - $11/hr - Work from Home (Tempe/Scottsdale)</title>
<description>We are one of the largest women's web publishers in the world with tens of millions of monthly readers, and we are looking for a women's topics junkie to write several current topical articles each day for our collection of websites. Topics would include:
 - Parenting &amp; Family
 - Fashion &amp; Beauty trends
 - Celebrity gossip
 - Holidays &amp; seasonal food topics
 - Women &amp; Family health research
 - Women in the news
 - Home and Garden seasonal topics
You will be using web tools each day to examine current topics that people are searching or tweeting about, and will write original articles, usually from a mom's perspective. You will the write an SEO-optimized article on the topic designed to capture women readers who may be interested in the topic. Women search the internet differently than men, so part of your goal is to get into the mind of a potential internet searcher and ask yourself what they would type into a search engine to find a women's perspective article on the topic. Since we are NOT a news publication, it is unlikely that we will beat CNN and NYTimes on most mainstream news topics, so we need to alter our content strategy able to win high rankings on secondary (long-tail) female-biased searches.
You will be working from home, and you will need to write articles that will be turned on seven days a week. Since time is of the essence on your content, you will submit your articles directly to our website without editorial supervision, so your grammar, spelling and structure must be PERFECT. You will also be posting information about your articles out on the internet in social media (tweeting, our facebook fanpages, digg, etc).
You will need to meet personally with our editorial staff in Scottsdale from time to time, so you must be local. However, the vast majority of your time will be spent working out of your house.
You will be paid $9 per hour for your work plus up to a $2/hour bonus for consistently achieving our productivity goals. You may be writing for multiple publications, and will be submitting articles online. This is an independent contractor position, so you will set your own hours and manage your own time and use your own process to get the job done. You will be writing under your own name or a pen name, so you can NOT outsource this work or have friends/family do it for you.
To apply, please:
 1. Reply to this post with word &quot;writer&quot; in the email subject line (to bypass my spam checker)
 2. Tell me about your education and experience as a writer
 3. Provide writing samples and a resume
You do not need to be a professional journalist, but you DO need to be a very quick and accurate writer and a quick learner/researcher. A quick insightful MIND will get this job.
